The Window That Kept the Fog
Fictional in-world material from a HIBIKI web demo. This is not a real game update, gameplay record, person, or place.

The room is small enough to cross in four steps. A chair faces the window. On the sill, a pale line marks where something stood long enough to keep the rain from settling.
Outside, the path bends left. I know this because I watched it disappear into the trees before the fog came down. I looked away to write it down. When I looked back, the window showed the same trees, but no path.
What the glass remembers
The pane is not cracked. It is not clouded. It gives back the room exactly as it is: the desk, the chair, the folded map, my hand resting beside the page.
Beyond it, the forest has no depth. Trunks press close to the glass, each one pale with mist. I stepped outside to find the path again. The door opened onto a clearing I had not seen from the window.
When I returned, the room was unchanged. The chair still faced the pane. My map still showed a path entering from the south. It did not show the room.
I have left the window uncovered. The fog has not lifted. The trees remain where they are, though I cannot say which side of the glass they occupy.
